"I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit."  Romans 15:13

Over the course of 20+ years I have had the pleasure of working with individuals, in various types of situations, facing all kinds of struggles in which they felt helpless, hopeless or confused.  By utilizing evidenced based counseling techniques aligned with Biblical principles, and providing a safe, accepting environment, I have witnessed individuals find hope, healing and lasting solutions.

ABOUT ME

I am passionate about helping you find solutions, healing, and hope.  I have been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York State since 2008.  While in New York I operated a private practice, as well as a mental health consulting business. I assisted several agencies and churches within the central New York region with understanding mental health issues and addressing mental health challenges.  After moving to North Carolina, I developed the Confident Hope Curriculum, and opened another private practice, this time in the state of North Carolina.  By having practices in North Carolina and New York I am able to continue serving the people of New York while being able to expand and include people in the state of North Carolina.

One of the things that is most unique about my approach is that I offer clients an opportunity to incorporate biblical principles throughout counseling while utilizing professional, evidenced based counseling techniques.   I offer a relaxed, non-judgmental, space where you are safe to share your struggles, explore your thoughts and feelings, and figure out solutions that work for you.  It is my desire that you develop practical skills that you will be able to use long after our time together has ended.

EXPERIENCE

For the majority of my professional life I have owned and operated private practices where I have focused on helping people work through marital, relational and family issues, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, codependency, domestic violence,  addiction, trauma, and abuse.

Prior to opening my private practices, I worked for several agencies that served a variety of populations; including, children, teens, couples, parents, and grandparents.  My career involved work with many non-profits, churches, and national federally funded programs.  Through these opportunities my love for people and my concern for their mental health and relational well-being became a driving force in my life.

All of these opportunities and experiences led me to develop the Confident Hope Curriculum.   The curriculum offers individuals an opportunity to develop a deeper, biblical, understanding of how they are designed, and learn practical life changing skills to address life’s challenges.  Through the curriculum I am able to reach more people than I can with individual counseling since it is offered in a group setting either in person or on-line.  My goal is for as many people as possible to use it as a tool in finding hope and healing.
